We have been producing wine grapes since 1990 and no two growing seasons have been the same, with this year being no exception. A very warm spring, with a cooler but sunny summer resulted in our earliest harvest yet by nearly two weeks. During the final growing phase, we tasted and tested the grapes for sugar level and the varietal flavors we wanted, and achieved a good balance of acidity and PH. |

Westerly Vineyard - Syrah
We received 5+ tons of Syrah clone (7) and clone (99) from our south-facing hillside blocks. Westerly vineyard is located at the extreme eastside of the Santa Ynez Valley, which has a warmer climate. This region produces an important component in our blending program. |

Careaga Vineyard - Pinot Noir
We love the grapes from this vineyard located in the Los Alamos region, just north of Santa Rita Hills , a cooler growing area that good Pinot Noir requires. We received four tons and would have liked more. The production levels are being kept at three tons per acre and the quality is superb. We are expecting a grand Pinot Noir this year. |

JK Vineyard – Syrah/Syrah Noir
This vineyard has produced award winning wines; unfortunately the production level was down from previous years due to heavy winds during bloom, and pesky deer. The good news is the quality of the picked fruit was above average, and we predict a yield of remarkable wines. |

Valley View Vineyard - Sauvignon Blanc
Valley View Vineyard was planted in the 1980’s and has been the source of many extraordinary Sauvignon Blanc. This is the second year we have received 8 tons and are looking forward to another successful vintage. My wife’s personal favorite! |
